Mohammed Robin Rabbi is 5-years-old and a recent resident of the international orphanage, Save Our Souls, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. AASHA's fundraisers sponsor all of Rabbi's living expenses, including his education, healthcare, food, shelter, and savings.
The SOS Children's VIllage provides unique housing for its orphans. The orphans are divded into families; each family contains several children and one mother figure to oversee the family. In addition to an education, each child, like Rabbi, receives a savings account that accumulates money to be used only after he or she has left the village. Nawsheen Khan, education co-chair of AASHA, met Rabbi this summer of 2009 in his new home at the SOS Children's Village. |
