The UNC at Chapel Hill Aikido Club is affiliated with Aikido America International/Nihon Aikido Kyokai (Japan Aikido Association). We use the Kenji Tomiki learning method as our basis for instruction. We use the ranking system that is used by the Japanese Aikido Association. Our school teaches ukemi, trains in hand-to-hand combat, multiple attack, defense against the knife and other weapons. Aikido is using your opponents energy and aggression against themselves by way of wrist locks, elbow locks, throws and pins. Practice Location: Fetzer Gym Wrestling Room; If you come through the SRC to Fetzer, turn left and go past the desk to the double doors and turn left again. Practice Times: - Saturday: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM (Open Practice; informal without instructors)

- Monday: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Tuesday: 8:15 PM - 10:00 PM
