Only YOU Can Support the Crew!
Dear Alumni, Parents and Friends,
- Remember what it was like to slide out on that icy lake at 5am, just to have to go back to the boathouse to fix a broken seat, cox box, or an oarlock?
- Remember sleeping 8-to-a-room and on church gymnasium floors on road trips to save money?
- Remember moving boxes and raking leaves on a beautiful fall Saturday to be able to pay dues?
- (And if you are a parent, be sure to ask your rowers - they'll tell you the stories)
The Crew continues to depend on the generous and substantial support of its Alumni, Parents, and Friends to sustain a competitive racing schedule and support a modern shell fleet. The Crew has benefitted tremendously from the gifts of its many supporters over the last several decades, and will never be able to say "Thank You!" enough.

HOW TO DONATE
The crew team greatly appreciates your donations, and we are aware of the difficulties that some have encountered in attempting to donate to the crew. 2k Campaign
The 2K Campaign:
In 2007, the Crew began a four-year capital campaign designed to increase donor numbers and total gifts year-over-year. The first 500m was really a hit, and was followed up by a terrific second 500m this year. The Crew has moved up from several lengths down at the start and is now bow-to-bow with its debt. Boat speed in the last 1000m in 2009 and 2010 will be essential as the Crew seeks to update and expand its fleet to support increased student interest in rowing at Carolina.

Endowment
The Wheeler-Norris UNC Crew Endowment:
In 2008, the Crew made landmark progress with the establishment of a permanent Endowment Fund within the College of Arts and Sciences, designed to support Rowing at Carolina in perpetuity. The Endowment will be a significant giving priority in the years to come, and the Crew is proud to announce that because of the generosity of several Alumni, the Endowment has broken $50,000 at inception! While the ultimate goal of $2,000,000 is a long way off, we are excited to chart the progress!

The Crew is thankful for the generosity of local "Ames and Jess" jewelry company as they pledge to support the ongoing financial goals of the team. For every jewelry purchase made, Ames and Jess will donate 10% of the proceeds towards the team's general fund.
