EWB is looking for a few good engineers (and Spanish majors, and history buffs, and photographers ....and you!) Don't let the name confuse you- EWB needs dedicated students from all academic programs to participate in our projects. Working internationally poses a huge set of logistical, cultural, financial and technical problems that require a diverse set of skills. We need people who can help with the following tasks: · Finding new communities we can partner with · Designing the technology that will be used in a given project · Fundraising · Working with communities to conduct needs assessments · Making travel arrangements for a project · Purchasing and obtaining the supplies needed to for a project · Managing the budget for a project · Translating · Educating community members on how to use and maintain the technology we build · Working with country and local governments to obtain the necessary permissions to work on a project · Understanding our partner communities so that we can provide technical support in a culturally appropriate manner
If you have any interest in being on a project team, or supporting that team through fundraising, planning or logistics please contact the project leader. or come to one of the events listed on our calendar. Note: We will be updating our calendar in late summer 2009 as our teams return from EWB's summer projects. In the mean time please check out our project page to see what everyone is doing.
Working with other student groups We are very interested in partnering with other student groups. If your student group has ties to a community that needs our help, or if your student group has a mission that dovetails with EWB please let us know.
