Join us for the 4th Annual "Think Global, Run Local" – Run to Make Water Run 6K on September 25th, 2011 sponsored by UNC Engineers Without Borders (EWB)!
Why 6k? Because it is the average distance that women and children in the developing world walk each day to collect their water. All proceeds from the 6K will support our five sustainable engineering and development projects that help local and worldwide communities improve their quality of life.
Prices are $15 for students, $22 for non-students, and $25 on race-day. Please be aware of the $2 online processing fee. The first 25 people to register get the early bird special: a free EWB tote bag and notebook!
The race starts at 9am at the Old Well and will navigate through on- and off-road course that winds through central campus, through the woods east of the Forest Amphitheater, and around a southern loop back to the Old Well.
Pie a Professor/Student
So EWB is bringing back an old fundraiser- PieaProfessor/Student! It will be at the spring awards on April 20th after the ice cream social and awards. We will be pie-ing 3 professors and 3 students. More information to come!

What is EWB-USA UNC?
Engineers without Borders (EWB-USA) UNC-CH Chapter is a student organization at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, founded for the purpose of facilitating UNC student involvement in international engineering and health projects organized or approved by EWB-USA. The goal of EWB is to partner with developing communities worlwide to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, which may address water and sanitation, energy, and waste concerns. Our chapter is involved with construction and design work, consulting, teaching, surveying, or other tasks as determined by project needs. In order to fulfill our goals and objectives, we will raise funds to support projects, facilitate collaboration between student groups and local engineers and other universities on development projects, and host speakers and seminars relevant to the role of the engineer in development work abroad. This chapter was formed in the summer of 2004 by graduate students in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at UNC-CH.
