Think Global Run Local 1st Annual Road Race

Run to Make Water Run 6k Walk / Run

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!  WE WERE ABLE TO RAISE OVER $3,500 FOR EWB PROJECTS AROUND THE WORLD!

RACE RESULTS:   Race Results

Presented by the UNC-CH Danial A Okun Engineers Without Borders, the Student Global Health Committee, SPH Running CLub, Nutrition Coalition, and Campus Y

Why 6k? Because that is the average distance that women in the developing world must walk daily to fetch their water (UNFPA, 2002). This 6k road race will raise money to assist the University of North Carolina's chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) in its effort to bring sustainably managed drinking water to rural and underserved communities in the developing world. The goal of EWB is to partner with developing communities worldwide to improve their quality of life through implementation of sustainable water, sanitation, energy, and waste management engineering projects.

We encourage teams of five or six to sign up together and receive a discount.  We will be holding a relay during the race were teamates can carry water and pass it off along the way.  Teams are not required to participate in the relay, they can run/walk the entier race together or do it as a relay.  Dogs are welcomed!
