We plan to continue our Journal Club meetings in the Fall as well as schedule additional field trips, gust speakers, and workshops |

We have recently started a journal club format discussion series for which at each session a group of articles organized around a defined subject is divided among participants to read before the meeting. The meeting is opened with a review and synthesis of the articles followed by a discussion in which each participant can voice their view and the group as a whole can develop ideas applicable to current projects. |
- April 2009 "Basics of Hydraulics" - a conceptual overview of the principles of hydraulics in simple piping systems given by Ryan Kingsbury.
- November 28, 2007- Pipe Network Workshop- A workshop run by Dr. Don Lauria which included pipe network modeling, simulation anaysis of exisiting facilities, simulation and linear programming approaches to improving distribution.
- November 14, 2007- GIS Workshop- A worksop gioven by Kari Leech on mapping the GPS points collected in Ciudad de Dios spring and summer 2007.
- April 2007- Piedmont Biofuels Workshop- A seminar and a demonstration on the production of biofuels.
