I've realized that there's nowhere on this website that gives a good description of what FTaGN is, or at least nothing that I can remember, so here we go! The Fun Tabletop Gaming Network, hereafter referred to as FTaGN (Iä Iä!), is a club focused on playing tabletop games. What's included in tabletop games you ask? Well, wikipedia has a great article on the subject here. To summarize it, tabletop games can be board games, card games, dice games, miniatures waregames, tile-based games, and other games normally plaed on a table or other flat surface. The term distinguishes these types of games from sports and video games. So FTaGN is a group of people that meets every week and plays these types of games! Yay games!
We meet every Saturday in New West 219 from 7PM until people get bored. New West will be open from 6:30 PM to 9 PM, so if you're planning on showing up later than that, you'll need to call someone to let you into the building.
We also have a listserv, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Join the listserv if you want to be updated on anything that's going on outside of Game Night or if you'd like to arrange something yourself.
So most of the website is up, structurally at least, and now I've just gotta get started filling in the information on what games everybody owns, descriptions of the games, and a list of all our members. The members list isn't going to be comprehensive, but it will have at least all of the members that own games. The idea is that people can search for a game, see who owns that game, and then contact someone if the want to play it.
The list of games is woefully incomplete at this time, there's only 4 games in there currently, and even those aren't sporting a complete description, I just put those up so I could test the search feature. We've got easily over 100 different games owned across our membership, so It'll take me awhile to get all that entered. On a related note, if you feel like helping out with that, give me a shout, I'll be glad for the help.
