Alpha Kappa Chapter was founded November 11, 1990. The person generally credited with starting the chapter is Mark Pabst, AK 1, an Alumni brother from Tau Chapter at ECU. More than 120 members wrote their name in the Roll Book that day. Among them was the first President, Patricia Sumrell. In the Spring of 1991 the first initiate class, the Alphas, were Ritualized. The most recent class to be inducted was the Alpha Nu class in Spring 2009.
